Product Description
Side Curtains have become a very popular option for large commercial hay operations particularly in the west where much of the hay must be protected in order to support the export market to Asia. Feed store hay, export hay, race track hay and straw, and dairy hay all benefit from the use of Side Curtains.
In our field tests we compared two stacks, one stake that we used our side curtains to cover the sides, and one hay stack that we left the sides exposed. The hay stack that used our side curtains on saw a dramatic decrease in loss of product versus the stack that had the sides exposed.
It was amazing to see how much more money ended up in the pockets of hay growers who protect the top, sides and bottoms of their stacks.
Side curtains are made from our 15 mil 6.5oz silver/white Polyethylene fabric. Heavy duty twines are fastened around the perimeter at approximately 8' spacing. When installing the side curtains these twines are fastened to bales on the top and sides of the hay stack to stretch them tight.
